Convoy Protest Audit – Public Consultations
Ottawa - The Office of the Auditor General has been working with both City staff and Ottawa Police Service staff to gather information and to conduct interviews.
We have been coordinating our work for this audit with other agencies performing a similar scope of work, including the Public Order Emergency Commission, to avoid duplication of efforts and ensure appropriate spending of taxpayer dollars.
The next stage of our audit is preparing for public consultations. We will be hosting two virtual public consultation sessions open to all Ottawa residents and business owners:
-
- July 12, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm -- Zoom link: https://ottawa-ca.zoom.us/j/86840665005
- July 13, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm -- Zoom link: https://ottawa-ca.zoom.us/j/82580464961
These consultations are aimed at helping our Office gain a better understanding of how residents were impacted during the protest and how, if any, City services and programs could have been improved.
There will be simultaneous French, English and sign language interpretation provided during both sessions. For those that do not have access to the internet, a dial-in number will also be available.
Individuals who wish to speak on the matter at hand at the meeting must register with our Office beforehand. Instructions to register can be found on our Engage Ottawa page. Following the virtual sessions, recordings of each session will be made available on both our website at www.oagottawa.ca and Engage Ottawa.
In addition to the open sessions, we have created a survey that members of the public can complete to share their experiences and how the protest impacted them personally. The survey can be found on our Engage Ottawa page.
More information can also be found about the audit, the virtual public consultations and the survey on our website at www.oagottawa.ca.
