Report on Audit Follow-ups and six Follow-up Reports
Auditor General finds too many of his Recommendations are only Partially Completed
Ottawa – Today, Auditor General Ken Hughes tabled six Follow-Up reports for audits dating back to 2015, 2016 and 2017. Of the 72 recommendations in these audits, 58% of the recommendations are complete.
“Management has agreed with these recommendations,” said Mr. Hughes, “Although progress has been made, they have to work harder on implementing them.”
Of the 72 recommendations in these reports, 25 of them are not fully complete and two have not been started.
The follow-up reports include:
- Follow-up to the 2015 Audit of Ethics
- Follow-up to the 2016 Audit of ByWard and Parkdale Markets
- Follow-up to the 2017 Audit of Child Care Services
- Follow-up to the 2017 Audit of the Management of the Lansdowne Contract
- Follow-up to the 2017 Investigation into the Giver 150 Playground at Mooney’s Bay Park
- Follow-up to the 2017 Review of the Management of Emergency Shelter Providers – Contract Management
“A lot of resources – both staff time and money are invested in these audits,” Mr. Hughes pointed out. “These recommendations will make the City more effective and more efficient. It is important that all of the recommendations are fully implemented.”
